WHAT

The Maker Movement has been evolving in Taiwan for over a decade. However, a generational gap in participation has surfaced. High school students, burdened by academic demands, often lack parental support for hands-on activities. Moreover, the prevalent use of smartphones has redirected their leisure time towards virtual spaces, diminishing interest in real-world craftsmanship. This shift has led to a disconnect in the age group participating in hands-on making activities. To ensure the sustainability of the Maker Movement, addressing this issue is paramount. Our goal is to inspire young professionals to rediscover the joy of hands-on creation.

WHY

We want to encourage interdisciplinary collaboration among young professionals to spark innovative ideas.

HOW

We will organize a Social Design Hackathon event, which includes four stages: introduction, networking, make, and present.
